A loft conversion is an excellent way to add space and value to your home and at add-a-room.co.uk we have the expertise and experience ensure that you will get the most out of your attic space.
The good news is that the rules surrounding planning permission changed in October 2008 and as long as the proposed conversion is within specified limits and conditions all that is required is building regulations approval.
We will guide and advise you throughout the whole process and liaise with the building inspector to ensure that the development remains within the regulations. If your proposed project is more ambitious we can arrange for the drawings and apply for planning permission on your behalf.
Trussed roof – No Problem
Since the mid-1960s, the vast majority of new houses have incorporated the w-shaped trussed rafter roof system, which has an incredibly limiting impact on the loft space.
For the more modern house we use a LABC approved system that incorporates the roof and floor support allowing post 1960’s trussed roof houses to be converted with a minimum of disruption and the added bonus is that the system also maximises the headroom that is available enabling us to create a larger room to house your dreams.
